Genesis 16:2….And Abraham hearkened unto the voice of Sarai..(his wife)…Note: He failed to wait upon the Lord. Note of interest: Adam and Eve, Genesis 3:17 …..Because thou has hearkened unto the voice of thy wife….* Devastating things happen when men do this; and fail to obey God. Nevertheless they can be saved if they will believe God.
Genesis 16:12 And he (Ishmael) will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
The story of Isaac begins in Chapter 21 of Genesis. Chap. 22: God tries Abraham’s faith. In 22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering as Christ bore the wooden cross. Moses wrote the book of Genesis 1,500 yrs. before Christ.
There are 115 prophesies of the Christ, the coming Messiah in Old Testament Scripture, which correlate directly to events which took place in the life of Jesus. “Everyone” from his birth till his death. All 115! I will try to list these a little later.
John 4:34 “My food”, said Jesus; is to do the will of him who sent me and to “finish” his work.
John 5:36 I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the very work that the Father has given me to “finish” and which I am doing, testifies that the Father has sent me.
John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, It is “finished.” With that he bowed his head, and gave up his Spirit.
The work was “finished” when Jesus died on the Cross. Only the Apostles were thereafter ordained to write Scripture. And by them we have the Gospels, the letters to the Churches, and of course the Book of Revelation, written by John, the last of the Apostles. There was no more Scripture thereafter which was inspired of God.
Isaac was the son of the free woman, and it was by him that Abraham’s faith was tried. Isaac was the true Ascendant of the promised Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ. All men are free in Christ. No man is free without him.
All we know about Ishmael is that he was the son of the bond woman, and was cast out, because said Sarah: The son of the bond woman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. She herself had no true understanding of the nature of the inheritance spoken of. Christ Jesus made it clear when he said; John 18:36 “My Kingdom is not of the world”…. Jesus spoke of a heavenly Kingdom. Only his believers will be inherited. Scripture says; “we are joint heirs with Christ to the Kingdom of heaven.
Mohamed of the sixth century A.D. was apparently desperate to try to cut himself and his people into an inheritance that he felt that his ancestors had been cut out of. The Koran was not inspired by the God of the Bible, but by the God of this world. Very few Jews have ever even believed the Gospel. While the Jews and the Muslims are out fighting each other over the world; a Christian wouldn’t have it if you tried to give it to them. There inheritance is in Jesus. It’s not in the world.
There’s all this arguing, strife and friction about who Jerusalem and Israel belongs to: I’ll tell you who it belongs to. It belongs to the Lord Jesus. He’s going to take Jerusalem and all of Israel and everything else when it comes time. And there won’t be one thing that anyone can do to stop it.
There’s a split second between any believer and heaven. There’s a split second between any non-believer and hell. Please put your faith in the blood of the lamb (JESUS) and come into God’s house while there is time.
It’s hard for most people to believe that they could have been misled or taught wrongly as youths. The vast majority were. One must evaluate things for themselves when they are older. The Lord has made it perfectly clear that there will be no excuse for not believing him.
